Jump to: navigation, search

The topic was religion. The conversation is shown first. The italic lines are the human, commentary on the chat response is in bulleted regular type and relates to the topic script, and bulleted bold lines are the chatbot's response. The system is actually hampered somewhat throughout, because it has no recognition of the word G-d, which Orthodox Jews use to avoid directly saying His name.

Conversational Fragment

  • Do you like to eat shellfish? I like to eat lobsters, crabs and shrimp. Doesn't mean I'd eat krill, though. I'll leave that to the whales.

no i am jewish

  • the word jewish triggered checking the religion topic, and matched a responder which executed ^reuse(RELIGION ) which in turn retrieved the current persona's opinion on it from sql.
  • I'm a hardcore atheist. Though paganism always appealed to me.

why don't you believe in G-d

  • The system had nothing matching this, and chose to continue with the next gambit, continuing from RELIGION onto JESUS.
  • As for Jesus. Son of God? I don't believe in God. That doesn't leave much room for a son.

i feel sorry for you

  • The system had nothing local for this, and chose to use a quibble from the system topic that matched his feeling something.
  • Everyone feels like that sometimes.

maybe you should try to believe in G-d

  • His statement did not match a responder, but it allowed the topic to proceed with a gambit, making a statement.
  • "every religion in the world that has destroyed people is based on love." - Anton LaVey

g-d is love

  • The system quibbles with his declarative statement.
  • So you say.

so I know

  • The system moves on to the next gambit, posing a question. Intermixing questions and statements is good flow.
  • Does God exist?

yes

  • The system moves on to the next gambit, GOD () ^getsql(god ), which retrieves its matching opinion from sql.
  • I feel no need to postulate a personal God. Feel free, however, to define God as the agent of the Big Bang.

g-d clapped and that cause the big bang

  • a system quibble
  • Does that reason seem to explain anything else?

yes

  • the next gambit intersperses humor with the questions and answers gambits.
  • An atheist is a man who has no invisible means of support.

lol

  • another gambit
  • What religion are you?

jewish

  • continuation within the gambit, when the user gives us a recognized religion, making a followup to the user's answer
  • Were you born Jewish or did you convert?

convert

  • the chatbot gambit offers its own corresponding belief
  • I do not have any religious beliefs - I think religions are a toxic meme.

that makes me feel sad for you

  • a system quibble
  • Everyone feels like that sometimes.

i suppose

  • the systems ETHICS sql gambit
  • As far as ethics goes "Do as you would be done by" always seemed a pretty good rule to live by.

the golden rule

  • a system quibble
  • You don't say.

yes," do unto others as you would have then do unto you. "

  • another humorous quip gambit
  • Q. Who was the greatest financier in the Bible? A. Noah; he was floating his stock while everyone else was liquidating.

lol
