How to Create a Library in the City Editor's Database View
Particle Effects & Entity Archetypes
The current process for creating a new Particle or Entity Archetypes library is detailed below. Since a new library file is automatically saved to the default location, you will need to manually move the file to the proper location. The steps are the same for Particles and Entity Archetypes:
- Add a new particle library in the DatabaseView's Particle Tab, and Save (by default, it is saved to Game/Libs/Particles)
- Close the City Editor
- Move the XML file from Game/Libs/Particles to your Game/Levels/.../Libs/Particles directory
- Upon re-launching the City Editor and opening your level, open and save your new particle library from the DatabaseView's Particle Tab
- Save your level so the new library will show up in the DatabaseView's Particle Tab drop-down menu the next time you open your level
When you save the library file in the DatabaseView, it will be saved to the proper location (your Game/Levels/.../Libs/Particles directory).
